A new seminar series discussing excerpts from: A Michael Eigen Companion— Moments of Wisdom from a Psychoanalytic Mystic (Routledge 2026)

Dates: Ten Sundays, October 11th through December 13th 2026
Format: Group meetings will be about 60 minutes in length, with 15 minutes of introductory commentary followed by 45 minutes of hosted discussion with participants.
Fees: 10-Session subscription $120. Drop-in per session $15
CE Credit: A Certificate of Attendance will be offered for meetings attended at the conclusion of the seminar. Licensed professionals must consult with their respective Licensing Boards whether this study group and seminar series qualifies for Continuing Education Credit. There is no sponsorship or conflict of interest connected to this program.

Study Focus
Quotes from Michael Eigen’s work will be the focus of this study group and seminar series. Two or three excerpts from my book will be discussed each week with group participation.
Many of the excerpts relate to themes found in psychotherapy, philosophy, the humanities, religious and spiritual traditions, along with various lineages of psychoanalysis.
Associations and meaning-making contributions from participants will be encouraged. Clinical examples are welcome when absence of identifying information insures patient confidentiality.
Authors emphasized in connection with Eigen’s material include D.W. Winnicott, Wilfred Bion, Freud, Jung, Melanie Klein, Marion Milner and Emmanuel Levinas, among others.
Spiritual and poetic traditions will include William Blake, Confucius, Lao Tzu, Buddha, Rumi, Thomas Merton, Emily Dickinson, Kabir, Martin Buber, Kabbalah, Mary Oliver, Rilke, and Keats, among others.
The purpose of this group is to honor psyche and lived-experience using excerpts that touch head, heart, soul and gut. Bringing together an international community of people interested in the broad embrace of Dr. Eigen’s work, I’m hoping to generate forms of soul-making during an era that feels increasingly soulless.
